Documentation in everyday project work tends to scatter across notes, boards, wiki pages, and chat threads – and sooner or later it drifts away from the code. In the GENIUS research project, we tried a different approach: documentation lives as AsciiDoc in the repository and gets published through a pipeline built on Antora and GitLab Pages, using exclusively open-source tooling. What this buys you, where its limits are, and why, in the end, mindset is still what makes or breaks it.
